1 Rescue and Fire Fighting Services
1.1 Adequate rescue and fire fighting vehicles are provided at Hong Kong International Airport. The scale of protection has been determined in accordance with Annex 14 - Aerodromes, Attachment A. In addition, 2 rescue launches with foam and water fire fighting capability, and 8 high speed rescue boats, together with rescue facility, are available H24.
2 Runway Surface Condition Assessment and Reporting, and Snow Plan
2.1 Aerodrome operator is responsible for assessing and reporting the runway surface condition based on the ICAO Global Reporting Format (GRF) whenever water or contaminant is present on an operational runway.
2.2 Runway condition report (RCR) is disseminated when there are significant changes in the runway surface condition. The RCR includes runway condition code (RWYCC) and the information that describes the runway surface condition, i.e. type of surface contaminants, depth and coverage for each runway third.
2.3 The RWYCC is derived from the Runway Condition Assessment Matrix (RCAM):

- WET (“Slippery wet” runway) |
Braking deceleration is noticeably reduced for the wheel braking effort applied OR directional control is noticeably reduced. |

2.5 Pilots are to make special air report (AIREP) whenever worse braking action than previously reported is experienced. Pilots may also be asked by ATC to report their assessment of the braking performance.
2.6 GRF is applicable to the following aerodrome: Hong Kong International Airport (VHHH)
2.7 Snow Plan: Nil.
